AND HERE ARE THE FRENCH SONGS!
Along with new singers such as Zaz and Stromae; Jacques Brel and Edith Piaf, whom are masters of the French music, will be in the audition which aims to introduce and popularize French songs among Turkish public. Everybody, from Europe to Africa, to Latin America, will get a chance to listen to French songs and vote for them during the online voting process that will last for one month.
Başak Çiftçioğlu, Coordinator of French Department of Izmir University of Economics, stated that the voting process, which will start in all 35 countries at the same time, will last until April 17. He said that, “French songs have not received publicity on radios or televisions since the 80’s. Therefore, International Federation of Teachers of French has taken an action to reunite French music with the audience. This event, carried out by Izmir Association of Teachers of French, aims to introduce and popularize French songs among Turkish public. We will get an opportunity to assess both new singers such as Zaz, Stromae along with masters such as Jacques Brel and Edith Piaf. The music lovers will vote for the singers they admire starting this week for a whole month. “
Music lovers will be able to add songs they like to the two main lists at the first round of voting on www.le-top-50.org/top50/tr/ site. There will be two lists at the second round; one list for before 1990 period and another for after 1990, each list including 100 songs. The participants will vote for 10 songs per list. At the end of the second round there will be one list of 100 songs and at the end of the third round, Frankofon Top-50 for Turkey will be identified.

Germany, Argentina, Belarus, Bulgaria, Algeria, Croatia, Holland, Egypt, El Salvador, England, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Iceland, Kenya, Greek Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Moldova, Nigeria, Norway, Central African Republic, Poland, Portuguese, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Greek, and Zimbabwe.
