DIFFERENCE OF IUE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES
School of Foreign Languages plans to disseminate the best practices being used in informal language teaching through YELL Project (Young Europeans Love Languages). The first phase of the project was completed in 2011. The partner countries to award winning European Project; UK, Germany, and Turkey plan to spread the project to all countries. Izmir University of Economics-School of Foreign Languages, the only representative of the Project in Turkey, will hold informative meetings and workshops to inform the teachers at middle schools and high schools.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Evrim Üstünlüoğlu, Director of School of Foreign Languages, pointed out the importance of the Project in terms of foreign language education. She said, “We are very proud to represent Turkey. Teachers, who participate in the Project that is planned to be completed in 2013, with their language teaching practices, will get a chance to attend the Project Conference that will take place in England in October 2013. Schools that are interested in the Project may get detailed information from School of Foreign Languages Directorate.”
