SNOW WHITE MESMERIZED THE AUDIENCE
The Snow White fairy tale was put on stage by the collaboration of Izmir University of Economics School of Foreign Languages, Department of Fashion and Textile Design, and Department of Media and Communication.
The students and the trainers got involved in an intensive workshop for the Snow White performance put on stage by the Drama Club of School of Foreign Languages. The Snow White performance, a product of creative concepts by Jörn Fröhlich, Lecturer of Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, and Nigel Ashley, Spanish Language Coordinator, attracted a great deal of attention. While the multimedia presentations were prepared by the Faculty of Communication, Department of Media and Communication, the costumes, hair designs, and make-up were prepared by the students of Costume Design elective course. Cenker Değimenci, Jörn Fröhlich, Nigel Ashley, and Pamela McArthur undertook the coordination of the project.
The students of Costume Design course interpreted the historical research they did on the 18th century late Baroque Period fashion as they portrayed the Snow White and the Evil Queen. The designs they produced were fictionalised with contemporary fashion silhouettes. The performance will meet with public in February at Izmir University of Economics.
