CERTIFICATE OF KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE

Dear Students,

If you speak Italian but cannot certify it, why not consider preparing for the CELI exam? Since 2011, İzmir University of Economics has been an official CELI Italian Language Proficiency Certificate exam center.

What is CELI?
CELI is a general Italian proficiency exam organized by the University for Foreigners of Perugia, recognized internationally as a measure of language proficiency. It is designed for students who are not native Italian speakers and wish to apply to universities in Italy or those planning to apply for immigration to Italy.

Students who successfully obtain the CELI certificate can transfer to Italian schools in Italy or other countries that accept the CELI certificate.

CELI measures language proficiency from beginner to advanced levels in line with the Common European

Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and consists of six levels:

• CELI Impatto (A1)
• CELI 1 (A2)
• CELI 2 (B1)
• CELI 3 (B2)
• CELI 4 (C1)
• CELI 5 (C2)

Advantages of the CELI Certificate
CELI certificates carry the Q Mark, a European quality label issued by the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE).
The Italian Ministry of Education, University, and Research (MIUR) recognizes the CELI 3 (B2) certificate as valid proof of Italian language proficiency for foreign students applying to Italian universities. Additionally, the CELI 4 and CELI 5 certificates are accepted as proof of proficiency on par with native Italian students.

In Turkey, CELI certificates are recognized by YÖK and are equivalent to KPDS, ÜDS, and YDS exams.

CELI a (adolescenti):
 

For students aged 13–17, the exam is offered at three levels:

• CELI 1 a (A2)
• CELI 2 a (B1)
• CELI 3 a (B2)

CELI immigrati:
This exam is intended for immigrants living in Italy, with no restrictions on age or education level. Candidates can take the exam at the level they feel prepared for.

Exam applications open 2 months before the exam date and must be submitted through the Italian Unit Coordination Office at SFL.

DILS-PG: Certificate for Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language
The DILS-PG certificate is designed to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of Italian language teachers, enabling them to teach more effectively and consciously. This qualification is recognized in Italy and abroad for job applications and professional assessments.

The DILS-PG certification has two levels:

• DILS-PG Level I: Targeted at novice teachers.
• DILS-PG Level II: Intended for teachers with extensive experience in teaching all levels outlined in the CEFR.

Exam applications must be submitted 2 months before the exam date through the Italian Unit Coordination Office at SFL.
