IUE academics became pioneers
The academics of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) pioneered the structuring of organizations that guide the professional development of English teachers in Turkey. While Asst. Prof. Dr. Bahar Gün, IUE School of Foreign Languages, has assumed the presidency of the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages International Association (TESOL Turkey) since its establishment, TESOL Turkey Leadership-and-Management Special Interest Group-LAMSIG, which is the sub-specialty of the association, was implemented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evrim Üstünlüoğlu, and TESOL Turkey Measurement- Evaluation-Testing-and- Assessment Special Interest Group-METASIG, by Asst. Prof. Dr. Esin Çağlayan.
